Susan M. Bernier, Principal and President

Sue brings senior level management experience and years of development knowledge to BHC Consulting Group, LLC. Sue's strengths are most evident in problem-solving and analytical situations, where her experience with managing volunteers, campaigns, and annual development plans can be maximized. Sue's experience and professional skills also include successful marketing plans, planned giving, and endowment programs.

Prior to founding BHC Group, Sue served as President of a small Massachusetts-based firm, where she managed a staff of nine to meet the ever-changing needs of over twenty clients. In addition to her management responsibilities, Sue served as capital campaign director for a variety of clients. Prior to consulting, Sue served as Director of Development for Husson College, guiding the board and faculty through a $6 million capital campaign. Prior to Husson, Sue was hired as the first Director of Community Relations and Development for Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. Sue's healthcare experience began as part of the Eastern Maine Healthcare family of organizations, including serving as part of the start-up management team for The Acadia Hospital.

Sue is an honors graduate of the University of Maine at Orono, earning a BA in journalism with a concentration in public relations.
